It’s been a month since the Roost Auction. And what a day was had! £1500 was raised for maker and craft groups based at North Edinburgh Arts. These groups are vital in supporting the community and drawing people towards place, identity, creativity and a feeling of civic pride. The atmosphere buzzed with a kind of twittering of excitement and creative admiration at the birdhouses at first. But it soon changed to a high dramatic tension as a competitive drive took hold.

There were so many connecting stories that day. There were people who Pimped Roosts, family and friends of Pimpers, bird lovers, local Muirhouse residents, people from across the city, designers and even two birdhouse collectors who had travelled from Aberdeen to bid for two birdhouses they’d seen on Facebook.
